H.R. No. 406

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, The Weatherford Independent School District has

been selected as a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and

Technical Association of Texas; and

WHEREAS, Weatherford ISD was one of only 38 school districts

in Texas to receive this esteemed recognition, which honors career

and technical education programs that demonstrate exemplary

leadership, innovation, and commitment to student success; the CTE

District of Distinction accolade also highlights programs that

excel in preparing students for the workforce and that are

dedicated to making a positive difference in the community; and

WHEREAS, The 13 career clusters offered at Weatherford ISD

CTE allow students to immerse themselves in their chosen field

through hands-on learning and internships; programs of study

include agricultural science, architecture and construction,

health science, hospitality and tourism, and manufacturing, among

others; in 2023, Weatherford ISD launched the Grizzard Regional

Institute of Technology in partnership with Weatherford College;

GRIT is an innovative option for students to receive a high school

diploma, an industry credential, or an associate's degree at no

cost; and

WHEREAS, Through its exceptional efforts to engage and

motivate students, the Weatherford ISD CTE Department has built an

outstanding record of achievement, and the district is indeed

deserving of this prestigious award; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby congratulate the Weatherford Independent School

District on being named a CTE District of Distinction by the Career

and Technical Association of Texas and extend to all those

affiliated with the district's CTE Department sincere best wishes

for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for the school district as an expression of high regard by

the Texas House of Representatives.
