H.R. No. 711

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Williamson County Emergency Medical Services is

celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, providing a fitting

opportunity to honor the agency for its contributions to the

community; and

WHEREAS, WCEMS was established in 1975 with 16 employees and

4 ambulances, and today it operates with a staff of 177 and a fleet

of 25 emergency response vehicles; among its many achievements, the

agency has been honored at the state and national levels, and each

year over the past decade, it has been recognized by the Commission

on Accreditation of Ambulance Services and has received the

Mission: Lifeline EMS Gold Plus Award from the American Heart

Association; the agency currently benefits from the able leadership

of its director, John Gonzales; and

WHEREAS, To celebrate its half a century of service, WCEMS is

hosting several events throughout 2025; the agency partnered with

We Are Blood to organize a blood drive that took place on January 8,

and it plans to teach 50 TAKE10 CPR classes to local businesses and

nonprofits; in addition, a 5K run will be held in the fall, and a

Trunk or Treat event is planned for October 18; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, Williamson County EMS has

demonstrated an unwavering dedication to saving lives and to

ensuring that high-quality medical care is quickly available to

those who need it, and its exemplary staff are indeed worthy of

recognition for their invaluable efforts; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby congratulate Williamson County Emergency

Medical Services on its 50th anniversary and extend to all those

affiliated with the agency sincere best wishes for continued

success with their important work; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for WCEMS as an expression of high regard by the Texas

House of Representatives.
