R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Public-spirited citizens from across the Lone Star

State are gathering in Austin on April 15, 2025, to advocate for

women and their families during Blue Ribbon Lobby Day at the State

Capitol; and

WHEREAS, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day brings together members of

Texas Democratic Women and other concerned women and leaders from

around the state to draw attention to issues of importance to Texas

women, including public education, health care, and economic

security; and

WHEREAS, An affiliate of the National Federation of

Democratic Women, Texas Democratic Women was founded in 1987 to

increase civic engagement among women of all backgrounds who hold

progressive values; TDW provides statewide training conferences

and workshops and serves as a communication network for other

Democratic women's organizations; today, it has more than 20

chapters engaged in grassroots organizing; during every

legislative session, the group sponsors a day of action for

discussions with lawmakers about the need to ensure equal rights

and opportunities for women; and

WHEREAS, Women contribute immeasurably to the dynamism and

prosperity of the Lone Star State, and Blue Ribbon Lobby Day serves

as an occasion to call attention to their concerns for their

families and their communities; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby recognize April 15, 2025, as Blue Ribbon Lobby

Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the advocates

who are visiting here today.
