H.R. No. 871
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Alamo Area Rape Crisis Center in San Antonio is
marking the 50th anniversary of its founding in 2025; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1975, Alamo Area Rape Crisis Center
(RCC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing
comprehensive support to survivors of sexual violence in Bexar
County and the surrounding region; serving as a trusted resource to
survivors, RCC guides clients in processing their trauma,
navigating the immediate aftermath, and regaining a sense of safety
and agency; and
WHEREAS, RCC offers services centered on prevention,
intervention, and advocacy, including a free 24-hour crisis
hotline, confidential counseling, case management, and educational
programming; the organization conducts training and outreach with
the goal of preventing incidents of sexual violence in the San
Antonio area, and it adapts its strategies and programs in response
to survivor feedback and emerging challenges; and
WHEREAS, Over the past half-century, Alamo Area Rape Crisis
Center has been a beacon of hope to countless victims of sexual
violence, and this milestone anniversary serves as a welcome
opportunity to recognize this commendable organization for its
efforts to make the community a safer and more compassionate place
for all; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Alamo Area Rape Crisis Center on the
occasion of its 50th anniversary and extend to all those affiliated
with the organization sincere appreciation for their dedicated
service; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Alamo Area Rape Crisis Center as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
