H.R. No. 881

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort the

family and friends of Jutson Benard Holton Jr., who passed away on

March 23, 2025, at the age of 78; and

WHEREAS, Jutson Holton Jr. was born on February 26, 1947, to

Ruby Farthing Holton and Jutson B. Holton Sr., who taught him to

take pride in his work and to stand firm in the face of adversity; he

grew up with the companionship of eight siblings, and his

involvement in the Boy Scouts further shaped his character as a

youth; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Houston, Mr. Holton previously lived

in Mississippi and in Louisiana, where he was employed at the Enjay

Baton Rouge Plastics Plant; his cherished family grew to include

children and grandchildren, and he made countless happy memories

with his loved ones over the years; and

WHEREAS, Although he is greatly missed, Jutson Holton was a

source of joy and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to

know him, and they will forever hold him close in their hearts; now,

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jutson Benard

Holton Jr. and extend deepest sympathy to his family and friends

and to all those who mourn his passing; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of

Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jutson

Holton.
