H.R. No. 967
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the Westlake Chamber of Commerce are
visiting the State Capitol on April 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Serving West Lake Hills, Rollingwood, and Austin,
the Westlake Chamber of Commerce was first organized on June 29,
1995, by members of the Eanes Business and Professional Association
who were seeking to cultivate a sense of community and to help area
businesses address issues of safety, crime, and economic growth;
and
WHEREAS, The chamber started out as a group of 50 volunteers,
but by the time it held its first fundraiser in October 1995, its
membership had grown to 110; the organization initially devoted its
efforts to such projects as the construction of The Village at
Westlake Shopping Center and the widening of Bee Cave Road, and it
also began holding monthly luncheons featuring presentations by
community leaders; and
WHEREAS, Now in its 30th year, the Westlake Chamber of
Commerce supports local business leaders through networking
events, ribbon-cutting ceremonies, business builder lunches and
breakfasts, and a leadership academy; moreover, the chamber remains
dedicated to strengthening the wider community, organizing
quarterly humanitarian efforts and hosting a variety of notable
events, such as its 4th of July parade and Westlake Wonderfest; and
WHEREAS, The Westlake Chamber of Commerce has played an
important role in enhancing the area's economic vitality and
quality of life, and all those associated with the organization may
take pride in their contributions to the Lone Star State; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize April 30, 2025, as Westlake Chamber
Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the visiting
delegation.
