H.R. No. 994

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Rebecca Currie has ably served her fellow Texans as

an intern in the office of State Representative Terri Leo Wilson

during the 89th Legislative Session; and

WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Currie has provided

vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks;

in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public

service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the

issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; moreover, she has

earned the office's unofficial title of "Canva Queen" for her

exceptional graphic design skills; and

WHEREAS, A graduate of IMPACT Early College High School in

Baytown, Ms. Currie is currently studying political communication

at The University of Texas at Austin, where she is a member of the

Sigma Epsilon chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority; while earning an

associate's degree from Lee College, she was instrumental in

helping the school capture both the 2023 and 2024 International

Public Debate Association community college championships; over

the years, she has completed internships with CastleRock

Communities, Ted Cruz for Senate, and VYPE Media; and

WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her

duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is

indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas

Legislature hereby congratulate Rebecca Currie for her service as a

legislative intern in the office of State Representative Terri Leo

Wilson and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success

in all her endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be

prepared for Ms. Currie as an expression of high regard by the Texas

House of Representatives.
