A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the use of telemedicine services in the juvenile

justice system.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 244, Human Resources Code,

is amended by adding Section 244.0095 to read as follows:

Sec.

244.0095.

CERTAIN MEDICAL CARE SERVICES REQUIRED. In

providing medical care, the department shall contract for

telemedicine services to be available when a physician, advanced

practice registered nurse, or physician assistant is not present at

the facility where the services are to be provided.

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
