A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the release of a conservation easement burdening the

Nueces County historic courthouse property.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. (a) The conservation easement created in favor

of the state in the Nueces County historic courthouse property, as

required by the Texas Historical Commission under Section 442.0083,

Government Code, as a condition of providing money to Nueces County

for a historic courthouse project, and any covenants in favor of the

state required by the commission under that section in connection

with the provision of that money, are released by the state.

(b) Not later than the 60th day after the effective date of

this Act, the Texas Historical Commission shall:

(1) execute an instrument reflecting the release of

the conservation easement and any related covenants under

Subsection (a) of this section; and

(2) file the instrument in the deed records of Nueces

County.

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives

a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as

provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this

Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this

Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
