A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to certain agreements arising out of special

investigations conducted by the Texas Education Agency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 39.004, Education Code, is amended by

adding Subsection (m) to read as follows:

(m)

An agreement between the agency and a school district to

conclude a special investigation of the district under Section

39.003 and impose a sanction on the district:

(1)

is subject to disclosure under Chapter 552,

Government Code;

(2)

must describe in plain language the allegations

against the district that gave rise to the investigation; and

(3)

must include any factual findings that are related

to the allegations described by Subdivision (2) and to which the

agency and the district agree.

SECTION 2. Section 39.004(m), Education Code, as added by

this Act, applies only to an agreement entered into on or after the

effective date of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
