SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 397

In Memory

of

Peggy Koski

WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the

passing of Peggy Ann Koski of Leander on December 9, 2024, at the

age of 92; and

WHEREAS, The daughter of Andrew Evans Green and Verna

Wilson Green, the former Peggy Green was born at her parents'

home in Marianna, Arkansas, on December 12, 1931; she grew up

with two older sisters, Zilah and Hilda, and graduated from

Marianna High School; after attending Blue Mountain College,

she transferred to the University of Mississippi, where she

met her future husband, Onnie R. "Rudy" Koski; they were

blessed with five treasured children, Laura, Peggy, Arnall,

John, and Zilah; and

WHEREAS, The family moved a number of times during

Dr. Koski's long tenure with the Veterans Administration; in

1972, Mrs. Koski became the first woman elected to the city

council of Derby, Kansas; during Dr. Koski's time as a professor

of dentistry at the University of Tennessee, Mrs. Koski embarked

on a successful career as a realtor with Crye-Leike Real Estate

in Memphis; an arts afficionado, she loved dance and music,

especially opera; she was a longtime supporter of the Poplar Pike

Playhouse at Germantown High School, where three of her children

performed; her kindness, wit, and vibrant personality brightened

the days of everyone around her, and she was called "Mama Kitty"

by her children's friends; and

WHEREAS, In retirement, Dr. and Mrs. Koski built their

dream home in Moss Point, Mississippi, where they enjoyed many

happy moments on the coast with their children and grandchildren;

following Hurricane Katrina, they returned to Texas; the devoted

couple shared a fulfilling marriage of 65 years until the passing

of Dr. Koski in 2016; sustained by a strong faith, Mrs. Koski was

a valued congregant of First Baptist Church in Moss Point and

St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Katy; moreover, she was a

member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority for 75 years; and

WHEREAS, Although Peggy Koski is deeply missed, she has

left her loved ones with many cherished memories, and she will

forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Peggy Ann Koski

and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her

children, Laura Leigh Koski, Peggy Suzanna Cincotti, Arnall

Rudolph Koski, John Eric Koski, and Zilah Jane Daley; to her

grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Ryan, Lindsey,

Shannon, Caraline, Jackson, Sophie, and Ella; to her

great-grandchildren, Lily, Onnie, Elliott, and Bailey; and to

her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns

this day, it do so in memory of Peggy Ann Koski.
