SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 404

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to

recognize the Texas Christian University Student Government

Association which is celebrating 110 years of outstanding

leadership, advocacy, and service to the university community; and

WHEREAS, The voice of the student body, the Texas Christian

University Student Government Association makes a noticeable

impact on the success of the university's thriving academic

programs and plays a vital role in enhancing student life through

service initiatives, programming, and legislation; and

WHEREAS, Student Government Association projects reflect a

deep commitment to student well-being and engagement, and

current efforts include actions to reinstate the beloved

homecoming parade, to partner with the Faculty Senate and reduce

grade turnaround times, and to place Narcan kits in all campus

buildings; and

WHEREAS, Dedicated to advocating for students and higher

education nationally, the Texas Christian University Student

Government Association successfully hosted "Big 12 on the Hill,"

an event in Washington, D.C., that brought together delegates

from student government organizations at every Big 12 school to

advance student scholarships and other opportunities promoting

student success at universities nationwide; and

WHEREAS, The efforts of the Student Government Association

affect legislation that improves student life, such as policy on

final exam schedules, faculty office hours, and independent

study protocol, and the group further supports student

achievement by advocating an extended pass and no credit deadline

and adding supplies to campus study spaces; it also organizes

annual mainstay events, including homecoming, family weekend,

and the holiday tree lighting; and

WHEREAS, The Texas Christian University Student Government

Association embodies an unwavering commitment to improving the

student experience and representing the interests of all Horned

Frogs; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas hereby

commend the Student Government Association at Texas Christian

University on 110 years of exemplary advocacy of all university

students and extend to its members sincere best wishes for

continued success in all their endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the

organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
