SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 409
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize members of Texas Democratic Women who are gathering at
the State Capitol on April 15, 2025, to advocate for women and
their families during Blue Ribbon Lobby Day; and
WHEREAS, Texas Democratic Women was established in 1987 to
promote the involvement of women in the political process and to
assist in the growth of the Democratic Party in Texas; Blue
Ribbon Lobby Day helps to uphold this mission by bringing
together like-minded women and political leaders to highlight
important issues that concern Texas women, including public
education, health care, and economic security; and
WHEREAS, During this day of action, Democratic women meet
with state legislators to discuss the rights women have to equal
opportunities and equal protections under the law and to affirm
the integral role women play in the economic prosperity of this
state; and
WHEREAS, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day presents an opportunity to
call attention to the concerns of Texas women and their families
and to work to affect positive change in the Lone Star State; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
Legislature, hereby commend the members of Texas Democratic Women
and extend to the visiting women and advocates best wishes for a
rewarding Blue Ribbon Lobby Day at the Capitol; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the organization in honor of this special occasion.
