SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 410
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Alyssa Barrera Mason for her outstanding contributions
to the City of Corpus Christi during her years of service as
executive director of the Corpus Christi Downtown Management
District; and
WHEREAS, Driven to make a positive difference in her
hometown, Alyssa Mason earned a master's degree in public
administration and a bachelor's degree in business
administration from Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; she
went on to earn certifications in economic development, and she
served her fellow citizens in a variety of roles in local
government before she was hired to her current position at the
Corpus Christi Downtown Management District in 2018; and
WHEREAS, Alyssa's exemplary tenure of leadership has
facilitated more than $100 million in development and
revitalization projects in downtown Corpus Christi, and she has
established incentive programs to increase economic growth and
expand public art awareness, such as the monthly ArtWalk and the
Mural Program; she has led her staff by example and cultivated
lasting partnerships to improve and preserve the city's thriving
downtown community; and
WHEREAS, Alyssa was honored as an Emerging Leader in 2022
by the International Downtown Association; she has set lasting
standards for excellence at the Corpus Christi, Downtown
Management District, and her presence will be greatly missed;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
Legislature, hereby commend Alyssa Barrera Mason on her
outstanding career and her many contributions to Corpus Christi
and extend to her best wishes in all her future endeavors; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
