SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 494

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to

recognize the members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, on

the occasion of the 96th Southern Regional Leadership

Conference, which will be held on June 12, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Since it was founded in 1920 on the campus of

Howard University in Washington D.C., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority has

exemplified the principles of scholarship, service, sisterhood,

and finer womanhood, and its members have become a prominent

force for positive change in communities across the nation and

around the world; and

WHEREAS, The chapters of the Southern Region of Zeta Phi

Beta Sorority have long demonstrated exceptional leadership in

fulfilling the sorority's mission, and its annual conference

serves as a vital platform for training, strategic planning, and

community empowerment and brings together members to reaffirm

their commitment to service and excellence; and

WHEREAS, This year's Southern Regional Leadership

Conference will focus on the sorority's signature initiative,

The Extraordinary Power of S.H.E., to inspire meaningful change

and advocate for social, health, and economic justice for women

globally; and

WHEREAS, Like many of Zeta Phi Beta's service initiatives,

The Extraordinary Power of S.H.E. supports meaningful programs

and partnerships that uplift women, address health disparities,

promote mental wellness, raise awareness of important global

issues, and build networks through mentorship and community; and

WHEREAS, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, is a beacon

of leadership, service, and sisterhood, and the 96th Southern

Regional Leadership Conference offers a fitting occasion to

commend all associated with the organization for their tireless

efforts to serve others and to uplift communities worldwide; now,

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby recognize Zeta Phi Beta Sorority,

Incorporated, on the occasion of its 96th Southern Regional

Leadership Conference and commend the members of the

organization for their enduring commitment to excellence,

service, and the empowerment of women; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

the sorority as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
