SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 537

In Memory

of

Jaxen Mick

WHEREAS, Words cannot fully express the profound sense of

loss felt by the family and friends of Jaxen Lee Mick of Mathis,

who passed away tragically on April 6, 2025, at the age of 16; and

WHEREAS, Born on April 28, 2008, in Beeville, Jaxen Mick

was the beloved son of Dennis Mick and Shanda Brown; he was

blessed with the companionship of his three siblings, Kaden,

Maralynn, and Liam, and his circle of support also included his

grandparents and his large extended family; and

WHEREAS, A student in the Mathis Independent School

District, Mr. Mick showcased his talent and enthusiasm for the

arts by participating in the theater production
Miracle on

Calabasa Street
; outside of school, he was actively involved in a

Dungeons & Dragons
group, and he greatly enjoyed classic rock

music and playing video games, especially
Minecraft
; his gentle

nature was reflected in his love for animals, and this smart and

funny young man brought joy and light into the lives of those

around him with his warm hugs and sweet and kind disposition; and

WHEREAS, Although his days were far too few, the love and

radiance with which Jaxen Mick lived his life will forever

comfort and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him;

now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jaxen Lee Mick

and extend deepest condolences to the members of his family: to

his parents, Dennis Mick and Shanda Brown; to his siblings, Kaden

and Maralynn Mick and Liam Brown; to his grandparents, Dianna

Cole, Jack Parsons, Bill and Trina Mick, and Barb and Jim Burden;

to his aunts, Courtney and Emilee Brown and Heather and Abby

Mick; to his cousins, Nathaniel, Christopher, Zaylie, and

Matthew Hernandez, Amaya and Gavin Courvier, Jadeann Bazan,

Hannah Mick, Jesse Bierwirth, and Leevi, Salem, Paige, Addison,

Autumn, Everliegh, Silas, and Oakley Brown; and to his other

relatives and friends; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns

this day, it do so in memory of Jaxen Mick.
