SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 55

WHEREAS, Burleson native Conner Lynn Prince proudly

represented his nation by winning the silver medal in the men's

skeet shooting event at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris in

August 2024; and

WHEREAS, Making his Olympic debut at the Chateauroux

Shooting Centre, Mr. Prince excelled during the qualifying round

of the competition, hitting 124 out of 125 shots to equal the

qualification Olympic record; he went on to win a 12-point

shoot-off against Italy's Tammaro Cassandro and advanced to the

finals in first place; during the final round on August 3, he hit

42 of his first 43 targets and ultimately claimed the silver

medal with a tally of 57 out of 60 shots, finishing just one point

behind his coach and fellow Team USA competitor, Vincent Hancock;

and

WHEREAS, Mr. Prince also competed in the skeet mixed

team event on August 5; he and his partner, Dania Vizzi,

earned sixth place with a combined effort of 144 out of 150

shots in the qualifying round; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Prince is currently studying manufacturing

and industrial management at Tarleton State University; he

embarked on his career in shooting sports as a member of the

Centennial High School Spartan Clay Target Team, and he began

training with Mr. Hancock in 2018; among his many

accomplishments, he won two gold medals at the 2023 World Cup

in Morocco and a gold medal at the 2019 Junior World Cup in

Germany; in all his endeavors, he benefits from the love and

support of his parents, Greg and Becky, and his sister,

Sydney; and

WHEREAS, By excelling in the most prominent sports

showcase in the world, Conner Prince has furthered the proud

athletic tradition of Texas and the United States of America, and

he may take justifiable pride in a job well done; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby congratulate Conner Lynn Prince on winning

the silver medal in men's skeet shooting at the 2024 Summer

Olympic Games and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued

success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

prepared for Mr. Prince as an expression of high regard from the

Texas Senate.
