SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 578

WHEREAS, Ameerah Ahmed of Girl Scout Troop No. 8861 has

attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this accomplishment truly

merits recognition; and

WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Ahmed demonstrated

creativity, initiative, and leadership in completing a Take

Action project that has resulted in lasting and positive change;

in an effort to make Islamic teachings more engaging and

accessible for young learners, she helped to enhance a classroom

at the Kids Learning Center in Plano by painting a mural, hanging

educational and decorative posters, and providing new books that

support faith-based education; she also introduced a number of

craft-based activities that allow students to embrace their

cultural identity; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Ahmed has further distinguished herself as a

member of the Class of 2025 at Lebanon Trail High School in

Frisco; and

WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging

young women to explore educational and career opportunities and

to become more socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is

helping its participants to achieve their greatest potential as

engaged citizens and leaders; and

WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Ahmed has

demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the highest

ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may reflect with pride on a job

well done; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby congratulate Ameerah Ahmed on her receipt of

the Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes

for continued success and happiness; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

prepared for Ms. Ahmed as an expression of high regard from the

Texas Senate.
