Recognizing the Greater Port Arthur Area Chamber of Commerce on receiving Accreditation with Five Stars from the United States Chamber of Commerce.

SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 605

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to

recognize the Greater Port Arthur Area Chamber of Commerce, which

recently received Accredition with Five Stars from the United

States Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, This prestigious national designation recognizes

local chambers of commerce for excellence in the administration

of their objectives and for outstanding contributions to the

communities they serve; and

WHEREAS, The only chamber between Houston and Baton Rouge

to have earned Accredition with Five Stars, the Greater Port

Arthur Area Chamber of Commerce promotes the economic vitality of

the region through consistent community engagement and proactive

support of area businesses; and

WHEREAS, Over the past year, the chamber has provided

members with 19 training sessions and seminars covering such

topics as marketing, grant writing, disaster recovery, and fire

safety; its numerous events benefitting local businesses and

residents included the Occupational Medicine Conference in

Jefferson County and the chamber's Empowering Futures job fairs;

and

WHEREAS, Members of the Greater Port Arthur Area Chamber of

Commerce are committed to fostering the region's long-term

prosperity, and their invaluable support has made a positive

impact on numerous small businesses and in the lives of thousands

of Texans; the staff, board, and volunteers who contribute to

this exemplary institution and the process required to receive

Accredition with Five Stars are truly deserving of recognition

for their achievement; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby recognize the Greater Port Arthur Area

Chamber of Commerce on its outstanding efforts to promote

economic prosperity for individuals and businesses in South

Texas and extend to all who contribute to the chamber's work

congratulations on earning national recognition and best wishes

for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

the chamber as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
