SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 621

WHEREAS, Nick Escue has distinguished himself in his

responsibilities as a legislative aide and policy specialist in

the office of State Senator Roland Gutierrez during the 89th

Legislative Session; and

WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Escue has provided

vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks,

such as supporting the Veteran Affairs and Local Government

Committees, and an amendment he wrote was successfully added to a

bill on the Senate floor; in addition to gaining valuable

experience in the field of public service, he has learned more

about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of

the Lone Star State; and

WHEREAS, A native of Plano, Mr. Escue is an Eagle Scout of

Troop 259, attended Collin College in Frisco where he served as

President of the Global Diplomacy Society and head of the Model

United Nations Team where he led his underlings to victory at

national competitions in New York and D.C., and he currently

attends The University of Texas at Austin, where he is a

government and history major; following his graduation, he plans

to pursue a law degree; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Escue has committed himself to advocating for

labor rights by showing up on the picket lines for SAG-AFTRA, The

Writers Guild, The United Auto Workers, and the Molson Coors

Teamsters 997; and

WHEREAS, Nick Escue has performed his duties as a

legislative aide and policy specialist with skill and

dedication, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for

his fine work; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby commend Nick Escue for his service as a

legislative aide, policy specialist, and Youth Coordinator in

the office of State Senator Roland Gutierrez and extend to him

sincere best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors;

and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

prepared for Mr. Escue as an expression of high regard from the

Texas Senate.
