Recognizing the McLennan Community College Dance Team for winning two Championship titles.

SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 625

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to

recognize the McLennan Community College Dance Team, which won

two National Dance Alliance national championships in 2025; and

WHEREAS, An acclaimed performance group, the McLennan

Dance Team upheld a reputation for competitive excellence at this

year's event in Daytona from April 10 to 12, 2025; the team won

the Team Performance Junior College Championship and the Jazz

Junior College Championship; and

WHEREAS, Since the program began in 1976, the McLennan

Dance Team has earned 14 National Dance Alliance championship

titles; members of this year's team have developed remarkable

skill and teamwork under the leadership and expertise of head

coach Ashlee Keyes and assistant coach Emma Howard, and the

program has thrived through the support of the college's athletic

director, Shawn Trochim, and its president, Dr. Johnette McKown;

and

WHEREAS, McLennan Community College is proud of the

McLennan Dance Team for representing their school with

exceptional talent and dedication, and the performers are truly

deserving of special recognition for winning two 2025 National

Dance Alliance Championship titles; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby congratulate the members and coaches of the

McLennan Dance Team on their outstanding achievement and extend

to them best wishes for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
