SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 650

In Memory

of

Roy Anderson

WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with

the passing of Roy Vincent Anderson of Texarkana on April 20,

2025, at the age of 96; and

WHEREAS, The son of Charles and Ocie Anderson, "Andy"

Anderson was born in Patmos, Arkansas, on October 22, 1928; he

shared a rewarding marriage with his wife, Ruth, that spanned

many years before her passing in 2012, and he took great pride in

his children, Mitch Anderson, Bruce Anderson, Cindy Peeples, and

the late Avis Annette Anderson Nix; through the decades, he had

the pleasure of seeing his family grow to include numerous

grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson worked as a route delivery driver

for Holsum Bread until his retirement; during his leisure hours,

he enjoyed reading, playing harmonica, gardening, fishing, deer

hunting, and spending time with his loved ones and his pet dogs; a

man of deep faith, he was a congregant of Buchanan First Baptist

Church; and

WHEREAS, While the death of Andy Anderson brings

immeasurable sorrow to his family and friends, he leaves behind a

legacy that will long be treasured by all those who held him dear;

now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Roy Vincent

Anderson and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his

family: to his sons, Mitch Anderson and Bruce Anderson; to his

daughter, Cindy Peeples; to his grandchildren and

great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and many

friends; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns

this day, it do so in memory of Andy Anderson.
