SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 656

In Memory

of

Jon Rowe

WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort

those saddened by the death of Jon Kevin Rowe of Gladewater on

April 9, 2025, at the age of 58; and

WHEREAS, The son of Jimmy and Jean Rowe, Jon Rowe was born

on December 5, 1966, in Gladewater, and he grew up with the

company of four older brothers, Jay, Jeff, Jed, and Jody; he

graduated from Gladewater High School in 1985 and continued his

education at Kilgore College before graduating from Texas A&M

University in 1989; he remained a proud Aggie throughout his

life; and

WHEREAS, In the course of a successful career, Mr. Rowe

worked for Eastman Chemical Company in Longview for nearly 35

years; a valued member of his community, he served as president

of the Kilgore College Board of Trustees and as a trustee for the

Gladewater Independent School District; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Rowe exchanged the vows of marriage with the

former Cindy Tallent, and the couple shared a rewarding union

that spanned 35 years; he took great pride in his daughters,

Alyssa, Leslie, and Rebecca, and with the passing years, he had

the pleasure of seeing his family grow to include four

grandchildren, Eva, Julia, Macy, and Alden; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Rowe drew strength from his Christian faith

and was a lifelong congregant of First Baptist Church of

Gladewater; in his leisure hours, he enjoyed grilling, fishing,

and traveling with his family, among other pursuits; and

WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his family, his faith, and his

community, Jon Rowe earned the lasting respect and admiration of

all who were privileged to know him, and he will be fondly

remembered and greatly missed; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Jon Kevin Rowe and

extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn his passing; and, be

it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns

this day, it do so in memory of Jon Rowe.
