SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 684

In Memory

of

Ginger Holland

WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the

passing of Ginger Rose Holland of Longview on March 26, 2025, at

the age of 83; and

WHEREAS, The daughter of Leonard and Myrtle Dean Bledsoe,

the former Ginger Bledsoe was born in Longview on May 22, 1941;

she grew up with the companionship of three sisters, Hazel,

Dorothy, and Lou, and she was a proud graduate of Longview High

School; over the course of a rewarding career at Brookshire's,

she frequently earned recognition for her work ethic and her

commitment to excellence; and

WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, she benefited from the love

and support of her husband of 33 years, Howard Holland; she was

the devoted mother of four children, Wayne, Susan, Paul, and

Dale, and over the years, her cherished family grew to include 18

grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, In her leisure time, Mrs. Holland enjoyed

traveling and cooking, and she took pleasure in preparing meals

for her loved ones; she was also a woman of deep faith, and her

spiritual devotion was reflected in every aspect of her life; and

WHEREAS, Although Ginger Holland is deeply missed, those

who held her dear will forever remember the warmth and kindness

she brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ginger Rose

Holland and extend sincere condolences to the members of her

family: to her husband, Howard Holland; to her children, Wayne

Barber and his wife, Amanda, Susan Mixon, Paul Barber and his

wife, Renee, and Dale Barber; to her sister, Lou McMahon and her

husband, Mike; to her stepchildren, Kendra Toliver and her

husband, Scott, and Adam Holland and his wife, Catherine; to her

grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to her many other

relatives and friends; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns

this day, it do so in memory of Ginger Holland.
