SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 686

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to

recognize the exemplary service of Secretary of the Senate

Patsy Spaw and her outstanding staff, whose dedication,

professionalism, and tireless efforts are vital to the success

of the legislative process; and

WHEREAS, Secretary Patsy Spaw has long served the State of

Texas with distinction, providing steady leadership and an

uncompromising commitment to excellence that sets a high

standard for public service in the Texas Senate; her perfect

attendance record during legislative sessions throughout the

years is a testament to her faithful and unwavering dedication

to the Senate, and in addition to her official duties as

secretary, she has long devoted her time and energy to serving

as a leader and esteemed member of the National Conference of

State Legislatures; and

WHEREAS, Supporting Secretary Spaw is a team of Senate

officers and department directors and their staffs who

contribute immeasurably to the smooth functioning of the

chamber; these individuals include Mark Garcia, Auditor;

Nicole Albers, Calendar Clerk; Rebecca McAdoo, Assistant

Calendar Clerk; Patience Worrel, Enrolling Clerk; Jeff Hedges,

Assistant Enrolling Clerk; Lourdes Litchfield, Journal Clerk;

Michelle Hill, Assistant Journal Clerk; Jill Turetsky,

Director of Media Services; Michelle Fultz, Payroll Officer;

Delicia Sams, Director of Human Resources; Joe Calvo, Senate

Postmaster; Mike Campbell, Director of Publications and

Printing; Laura Winsheimer, Director of Purchasing and Supply;

David Mauzy, Director of Senate Research; Austin Osborn,

Sergeant-at-Arms; Matt Peabody, Doorkeeper; Briana Hernandez,

Office Manager; Greg Gaitan, Director of Support Services;

Monica Partida, Director of Staff Services; in addition, key

Senate staff members such as Nanci Longoria and Lauren

Williams, Administrative Assistants to Secretary Spaw; Scott

Caffey, Committee Coordinator; Jessica Flynn, Messengers

Supervisor; Amanda Bookout, Travel Coordinator; Dante Hill,

Manager and Executive Chef of the Lieutenant Governor's

Reception Room; and Anthony Hernandez, Supervisor of the Senate

Porters, have each played important roles in ensuring the

Senate runs effectively and efficiently; and

WHEREAS, The Senate also recognizes with deep

appreciation the many other staff members in each Senate

department, whose hard work, diligence, and behind-the-scenes

efforts have been indispensable to the operations of the Texas

Senate; and

WHEREAS, Together, Secretary Spaw and her devoted team

uphold the most honorable ideals of public service and embody

the spirit of cooperation, excellence, and integrity that

defines the Texas Senate; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby honor Secretary of the Senate Patsy Spaw

and her entire staff for their many valuable contributions to

the legislative process and commend them on their loyal and

continued service to the State of Texas; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

Secretary Spaw and her staff as an expression of highest regard

and gratitude from the Texas Senate.
