SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 698

In Memory

of

Annie Damm

WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Annie Rene Damm of

Hooks were deeply saddened by her death on February 4, 2025, at

the age of 85; and

WHEREAS, The daughter of Bill and Irene Jackson, the former

Annie Jackson was born in Pike County, Arkansas, on May 8, 1939,

and she grew up with the companionship of eight siblings, Ann,

Jene, Pat, Kenneth, Juanita, Kevin, Kerry, and Kirby; she shared

a rewarding marriage with her husband, James, that spanned 45

years until his passing in 2009, and she took great pride in their

children, Leslie, Jeff, and Tony; through the decades, she had

the pleasure of seeing her family grow to include 7 grandchildren

and 10 great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, A woman of strong faith, Mrs. Damm was an active

member of the First Baptist Church of Texarkana, where she

participated in Bible study and Sunday school; she pursued a

number of different occupations throughout her life, and she

found great joy in uplifting those around her; above all else,

she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Annie Damm led a life of caring devotion to her

loved ones, and although she is deeply missed, her spirit will

forever live in their hearts; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Annie Rene Damm

and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to

her children, Leslie Kennedy, Jeff Damm and his wife, Trena, and

Tony Damm and his wife, Karabeth; to her grandchildren, Bradley,

Jeffrey, Ariana, Alex, and Grace Damm and Tad and Simone Hill; to

her 10 great-grandchildren; to her siblings, Juanita

Shallenburger, Kevin Jackson, Kerry Jackson, and Kirby Jackson;

and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns

this day, it do so in memory of Annie Damm.
