SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 707

WHEREAS, The staff and interns in the office of State

Senator Nathan Johnson have ably served their fellow Texans

during the 89th Legislature; and

WHEREAS, Serving as chief of staff since November 2022,

Lani Lappinga has worked for Senator Johnson for half a decade;

her able leadership has helped to ensure the efficient operation

of both the capitol and district offices; she was previously a

policy analyst and senior policy analyst; and

WHEREAS, Alvaro Diaz has been with the office for two

years, and he served as deputy legislative director before being

promoted to legislative director; handling a wide variety of

challenging tasks, he has been vital in carrying forth the

senator's legislative agenda; and

WHEREAS, Policy analysts Jordan Cooley and Lauren Cobb

have played an instrumental role in researching and developing

legislative initiatives; Ms. Cobb has worked for the office for

nearly two years, including her prior service as a legislative

aide; Ms. Cooley has been with the office for eight months; and

WHEREAS, May Gardner, the operations manager, began her

tenure in January 2025, and her many responsibilities have

included overseeing the senator's schedule, coordinating travel,

and providing administrative support to the Capitol office; and

WHEREAS, Ernest Clark III has served as the communications

director since 2023, and he has helped to support legislative

priorities through targeted messaging and social media

initiatives; he has also cultivated important media

relationships; and

WHEREAS, Brenda Louise Allen has excelled as district

director for three years, and she has also overseen all media

relations; her work has included managing press outreach and

serving as a liaison to local stakeholders, advocacy groups, and

constituents; and

WHEREAS, Rose Rayo joined the office as the constituent

services specialist in 2019, and in 2023, she took on the

additional role of deputy district director; she has been

responsible for all constituent correspondence and casework; and

WHEREAS, The office's interns, Aman Chaudhary, Andie

Kapiloff, Navya Krishnan, Rujul Kulkarni, Neha Rao, Tommy Wan,

Aria Welch, and Shriya Siddhartha, have each gained valuable

experience by tracking and analyzing bills, responding to calls

from constituents, and helping maintain office operations; and

WHEREAS, These esteemed public servants have all performed

their duties with skill and dedication, and they are indeed

deserving of special recognition for their fine work; now,

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th

Legislature, hereby commend the staff and interns in the office

of State Senator Nathan Johnson for their outstanding service and

extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success in all

their endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That official copies of this Resolution be

prepared for Senator Johnson's staff and interns as an expression

of high regard by the Texas Senate.
