General Description:
This resolution supports Rugby League in Utah.
Highlighted Provisions:
This resolution:
supports growth of Rugby League in Utah; and
encourages public and private stakeholders to introduce and expand access to Rugby
League in Utah.

Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah, the Governor concurring therein:
WHEREAS, Rugby League is a dynamic, inclusive, and growing international sport that
promotes athleticism, teamwork, community engagement, and cultural exchange;
WHEREAS, Utah is home of the USA Rugby League Commission and the most Rugby
League Teams in the United States;
WHEREAS, Rugby League is distinct from other codes of rugby and has a rich history of
development and competition, with global popularity in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and
the Pacific Islands;
WHEREAS, Utah has a growing and diverse population with an increasing interest in a
variety of sports and recreational opportunities, including Rugby League;
WHEREAS, Utah is home to youth, amateur, and semi-professional rugby organizations
and clubs that provide positive outlets for young people, encourage physical activity, and build
community cohesion;
WHEREAS, supporting Rugby League in Utah aligns with the state's goal to become "The
State of Sport," promotes healthy lifestyles, expands sporting opportunities, and encourages
the development of emerging sports; and
WHEREAS, increased recognition of Rugby League in Utah will attract regional, national,
and international competitions and events, contributing to local economic development and
tourism:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah, the
Governor concurring therein, expresses support for the continued growth, promotion, and
development of Rugby League within the state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature and the Governor encourage public and
private stakeholders, including local governments, school districts, community organizations,
and sports commissions, to support initiatives that introduce and expand access to Rugby
League in Utah.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Utah Sports
Commission, the Utah Rugby League Clubs, the USA Rugby League Commission, and the
Pacific Sports International.
