Labor and Commerce Amendment

Plain English: The amendment changes the language in HB591 to require data centers to pay their fair share of infrastructure investments instead of contributing equitably, and it also modifies reporting requirements by changing what is reported from energy and water usage to water and aggregated energy usage.

  • Changes the requirement for data centers to 'contribute equitably to infrastructure investment and cost allocation' to 'pay their fair share of infrastructure investments'.
  • Modifies the reporting requirement to change the term 'energy and water usage' to 'water and aggregated energy usage'.
  • The amendment text does not provide details on how data centers will determine what constitutes a 'fair share' of infrastructure investments.
