Directs the Department of Education (the Department) to (i) conduct a comprehensive review of the history and social science Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework and any associated instructional guides and materials for the purpose of ensuring the inclusion of quality, accurate, and complete instruction on the contributions and roles of all peoples included in such Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework and (ii) submit to the Chairs of the Senate Committee on Education and Health and the House Committee on Education by November 1, 2028, a report on the findings of such comprehensive review.

An Act to direct the Board of Education to, during its next regularly scheduled revision of the history and social science Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework, include quality, accurate, and complete instruction on the contributions and roles of all peoples included in such Standards of Learning; report.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1.
§ 1. The Board of Education (the Board) shall:
1. During its next regularly scheduled revision of the history and social science Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework, review and, if necessary, update or supplement such Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework to ensure the inclusion of quality, accurate, and complete instruction on the contributions and roles of all peoples included in the history and social science Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework; and
2. Upon completing such revision, submit to the Chairs of the Senate Committee on Education and Health and the House Committee on Education a report that shall include (i) any areas in such Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework identified as needing improvement in the quality, accuracy, or completeness of instruction on the contributions and roles of all peoples included in such Standards of Learning and Curriculum Framework and (ii) a summary of how the Board updated or supplemented the areas identified pursuant to clause (i).
