Commending Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry University.

WHEREAS, Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry University won its second consecutive Intercollegiate Dressage Association team national championship in April 2025; and
WHEREAS, the Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry University Wasps secured the Beukema National Team Championship Trophy at the National Equestrian Center in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, after facing talented riders from around the country; and
WHEREAS, senior Ava Harry opened the team championship with an 11th-place finish in the highest level of the competition, the First Level; and
WHEREAS, seniors Abigail Williamson and Meaghan Croteau added crucial points with first-place victories in the Upper Training and Lower Training events, and freshman Samantha Nappi closed out the competition with a sixth-place finish in the Introductory Level event; and
WHEREAS, Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry University set a new record with nine Intercollegiate Dressage Association national championship titles, including five during its time at Emory & Henry University and four previous titles at Virginia Intermont College; and
WHEREAS, the successful campaign was a tribute to the skill and dedication of the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of coaches and staff, and the support of family members, friends, and the entire Emory & Henry University community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry University on winning the 2025 Intercollegiate Dressage Association team national championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry University as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's record-setting achievements and best wishes for the future.
