WHEREAS, Real People Educating Others, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth and families through mentorship, education, service initiatives, and extracurricular engagement, has made a positive and measurable impact on families across the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Real People Educating Others was established in 2008 by community leaders committed to addressing the need for greater youth support, educational access, and family resources; since its founding, the organization has maintained a strong and consistent presence across the Greater Hampton Roads area, building trusted partnerships with schools, families, volunteers, civic organizations, and other community stakeholders; and
WHEREAS, Real People Educating Others empowers young people, particularly those from underserved and socioeconomically challenged communities, by providing access to resources, guidance, and positive role models that promote academic success, leadership development, and long-term stability; and
WHEREAS, guided by its four core pillars of mentorship, education, services, and extracurricular activities, Real People Educating Others has supported young people through youth mentorship programs, basketball and football camps, a number of back-to-school and holiday “Give Back” initiatives, and its Celebrating Success awards ceremony; and
WHEREAS, Real People Educating Others has engaged volunteers, educators, coaches, and other local leaders and cultivated a culture of collective responsibility as it provides hundreds of families each year with essential resources and opportunities, fostering long-term wellness and community connection; and
WHEREAS, the efforts of Real People Educating Others have helped to stabilize families, improve educational outcomes, and build pathways for young people, enabling them to pursue and achieve their dreams; and
WHEREAS, through its various programs and initiatives, Real People Educating Others has exemplified the spirit of volunteerism, civic engagement, and service that strengthens communities and supports future generations; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Real People Educating Others for its continued dedication to youth mentorship, educational support, and community service; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Real People Educating Others as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the organization's contributions to the Commonwealth.
