WHEREAS, Team Aeroloco, composed of four students from Northern Virginia high schools, won the Go For Launch! Kuiper event in 2024, gaining the opportunity to create a science experiment that was sent to the International Space Station in 2025; and
WHEREAS, at the time, Team Aeroloco was made up of Asher Greene of Arlington Tech, Shrestha Parthaje of Chantilly High School, Ryan C. Sullivan of Yorktown High School, and Grayson Talbot of Washington-Liberty High School; and
WHEREAS, Team Aeroloco worked with the nonprofit organization Higher Orbits and the aerospace company Space Tango to develop an experiment studying the behavior of a type of yellow slime mold in zero gravity; and
WHEREAS, Team Aeroloco's experiment placed the slime mold, which is known for its ability to find efficient pathways for growth, in a 3D maze, allowing scientists and medical researchers to gather data on applications for cancer treatments; and
WHEREAS, in August 2025, Team Aeroloco's experiment was sent to the International Space Station aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Team Aeroloco on winning the Go For Launch! Kuiper event in 2024; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare copies of this resolution for presentation to the members of Team Aeroloco—Asher Greene, Shreshta Parthaje, Ryan C. Sullivan, and Grayson Talbot—as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's achievements and contributions to cancer treatment research.
