WHEREAS, for 100 years, the Arlington County Bar Association has served the Arlington County community and the Commonwealth as a professional organization of attorneys dedicated to the rule of law, ethical practice, and public service; and
WHEREAS, established in 1926, the Arlington County Bar Association has played a continuous role in supporting the fair administration of justice and the orderly development of the local legal community throughout the modern history of Arlington County; and
WHEREAS, the Arlington County Bar Association has long promoted the highest standards of professionalism, competence, and civility among members of the Virginia State Bar; and
WHEREAS, the Arlington County Bar Association fosters constructive cooperation between attorneys, judges, and the broader Arlington community, strengthening public confidence in the Commonwealth's judicial system; and
WHEREAS, the Arlington County Bar Association strives to make the justice system more accessible by connecting members of the public with legal resources, including attorney referral services and educational programs; and
WHEREAS, the Arlington County Bar Association supports the legal profession and serves the public through its relationship with the Walter T. McCarthy Law Library, a longstanding legal research institution serving attorneys, self-represented litigants, and other interested parties; and
WHEREAS, the Arlington County Bar Association's civic and charitable impact is amplified through the Arlington County Bar Foundation, which advances law-related education, community programs, and public service initiatives within Arlington County and the surrounding region; and
WHEREAS, through its educational programs, public outreach, and professional development initiatives, the Arlington County Bar Association enhances understanding of the law and encourages respect for legal institutions throughout the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, over multiple generations, the members of the Arlington County Bar Association have provided distinguished leadership as judges, public officials, and community advocates, demonstrating their integrity and dedication to service; and
WHEREAS, the Arlington County Bar Association's enduring commitment to public service, legal education, and professional excellence exemplifies the highest ideals and values of the Commonwealth's legal tradition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Arlington County Bar Association on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Arlington County Bar Association as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the organization's contributions to the legal profession and service to generations of Virginians.
