WHEREAS, the Brunswick Academy football team claimed its fourth consecutive state title with a victory in the Virginia Independent Schools Football League eight-man football state championship in November 2025; and
WHEREAS, the state final was a highly anticipated rematch between the Brunswick Academy Vikings and Southampton Academy Raiders, who had handed the Vikings their only loss of the season a few weeks earlier; and
WHEREAS, despite trailing by eight points at halftime, the Brunswick Vikings stayed focused, made critical adjustments on the offensive line, and reasserted themselves on defense to shift the momentum of the game in their favor; and
WHEREAS, the Brunswick Vikings took advantage of good field position from a blocked punt to tie the game with a 24-yard touchdown pass from Nathan Talbert to Carter Early, followed by a two-point conversion from Talbert to La'Quarion Whitaker; and
WHEREAS, Southampton Academy responded with a field goal, but Brunswick Academy's Antwan Lee followed up with a 78-yard touchdown run on the ensuing kickoff; and
WHEREAS, with 3:08 remaining in regulation time, Ethan Parker forced a fumble to give the Brunswick Vikings possession on their own 30-yard line, allowing the team to run out the clock with a long drive; and
