WHEREAS, Iralin Crowder Peple, a respected nurse, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and beloved member of the Richmond community, died on March 13, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Iralin Peple graduated from George Wythe High School in Wytheville in 1961 and was a member of the first class to graduate from what was formerly the Richmond Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1964; and
WHEREAS, Iralin Peple's distinguished career as a registered nurse in Richmond included tenures with the pediatric unit at what is today VCU Health, on the obstetrics and gynecology floor at Richmond Memorial Hospital, and at Henrico Doctors' Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Iralin Peple was actively involved in raising her sons throughout their childhoods and embraced every opportunity to support them in their education and other endeavors, contributing greatly to their growth and success; and
WHEREAS, guided throughout her life by her faith, Iralin Peple enjoyed worship and fellowship with her community at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Richmond, where she served on the altar guild as chair and team leader and assisted a number of the church's charitable outreach initiatives; and
WHEREAS, Iralin Peple will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her husband of 58 years, Stephen; her children, Stephen, Jr., and John, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Iralin Crowder Peple, a treasured member of the Richmond community who brightened countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Iralin Crowder Peple as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for her memory.
