WHEREAS, Victor Anthony Shaheen, an esteemed attorney, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and beloved member of the Richmond community, died on June 20, 2025; and
WHEREAS, after graduating in 1972 from St. Christopher's School in Richmond, where he was a member of the varsity basketball team, Victor Shaheen earned a bachelor's degree and juris doctor degree from the University of Richmond; and
WHEREAS, Victor Shaheen began his distinguished legal career with the firm White, Blackburn & Conte while also supporting his father's business, Phil's Continental Lounge, and later partnered with his brother Arthur in 1995 to found Shaheen & Shaheen, P.C., which became Shaheen Law Firm, P.C., some time thereafter; and
WHEREAS, through Victor Shaheen's tireless efforts, the Shaheen Law Firm became one of the highest-volume real estate closing firms in the Mid-Atlantic region, with offices in Richmond, Virginia Beach, Newport News, and Fredericksburg; and
WHEREAS, Victor Shaheen served thousands of families and businesses in the Commonwealth over his career, a legacy that he was proud to see carried forward by his three sons, who later joined him as practicing attorneys at the Shaheen Law Firm; and
WHEREAS, Victor Shaheen advanced the real estate industry as an active member of Bon Air Title, as an affiliate member of the Richmond Association of Realtors, and through his involvement with a number of local and national real estate organizations; and
WHEREAS, guided throughout his life by his faith, Victor Shaheen enjoyed worship and fellowship with his community at St. Anthony's Maronite Catholic Church in Glen Allen; and
WHEREAS, Victor Shaheen will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife of 32 years, Janice; his children, Victor II, Faiz, and Blaise, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Victor Anthony Shaheen, a revered member of the Richmond community whose integrity, service, and dedication will forever inspire all who knew him; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Victor Anthony Shaheen as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
