WHEREAS, Melinda Dalton, a receptionist at Danville Dental Associates and an active and engaged member of the Danville community, was named the Danville Kiwanis Citizen of the Year, one of the city's highest honors, on December 4, 2025, at the Danville Golf Club; and
WHEREAS, Melinda Dalton has given generously of her time for the benefit of the Danville community as a leader and member of a number of service organizations, including the American Heart Association, God's Pit Crew, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the United Way, and the Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Association; and
WHEREAS, Melinda Dalton has nurtured the health and well-being of young people and families through numerous endeavors, including her efforts to support pediatric trauma centers in the region and a national initiative to end maternal and neonatal tetanus; and
WHEREAS, as a result of her hard work, dedication, and commitment to assisting youth and families in need, Melinda Dalton has embodied the spirit of community service and made a profound and lasting impact on countless lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Melinda Dalton for being named the 2025 Danville Kiwanis Citizen of the Year; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Melinda Dalton as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for her contributions to Danville and the Commonwealth.
