WHEREAS, Jeremy Lewis Hall, a distinguished master corrections officer with the River North Correctional Center in Grayson County and a beloved member of the Elk Creek community, died tragically in the line of duty on November 17, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Jeremy Hall joined the Virginia Department of Corrections on April 25, 2024, and dedicated himself to promoting safety in the Commonwealth and to carrying out his duties and responsibilities as a master corrections officer; and
WHEREAS, Jeremy Hall was an avid outdoorsman and adept at working with his hands, and he would unfailingly go out of his way to help others in need; and
WHEREAS, Jeremy Hall approached life with humility, joy, and a sense of purpose, and he was happiest of all when spending quality time with his family and baby dog, Chia; and
WHEREAS, to honor Jeremy Hall's service, Governor Glenn Youngkin ordered the flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth to be flown at half-staff on all state and local buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth on December 2, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Jeremy Hall will be fondly remembered by his loving wife, Dawn; his children, Amaya, Felix, and Sophi; his parents, Mary and Michael; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Jeremy Lewis Hall, a revered member of the Elk Creek community whose courage, professionalism, and commitment to the well-being of others inspired all who knew him; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Jeremy Lewis Hall as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
