WHEREAS, the Lancaster Little League senior girls' softball team won the Virginia State Little League senior state championship on June 30, 2025, at Witter Field in Alexandria; and
WHEREAS, the Lancaster Lady Devils defeated the Chesterfield Little League senior girls' softball team by a score of 12–7 to become the first Lancaster Little League senior girls' softball team to win a state championship; and
WHEREAS, the Lancaster Lady Devils won their district championship and posted a 5–1 record in the state tournament on the way to their historic win; and
WHEREAS, after securing the state championship title, the Lancaster Lady Devils represented the Commonwealth in the Little League senior southeast regional tournament in Clarksville, Tennessee; and
WHEREAS, the Lancaster Lady Devils' accomplishments are the result of the young athletes' hard work and determination, the leadership and guidance of their coaches, Bruce Northern and La'Aria Kelley, and the unwavering support of their families and the entire Lancaster County community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Lancaster Little League senior girls' softball team for winning the 2025 Virginia State Little League senior state championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Bruce Northern, head coach of the Lancaster Little League senior girls' softball team, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for their achievements and best wishes for their future success.
