Celebrating the life of Christina Kaye Shinall.

WHEREAS, Christina Kaye Shinall of Richlands, a retired emergency dispatcher who helped safeguard residents of Tazewell County for nearly three decades, died on March 19, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Christina “Chrissy” Kaye Shinall was born to the late James H. Shinall, Sr., and Helen Irene Sargent Shinall and was a lifelong resident of Southwest Virginia; and
WHEREAS, Chrissy Shinall graduated from Richlands High School in 1986, then pursued a career in public safety as a dispatcher with the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office; and
WHEREAS, Chrissy Shinall was one of the charter members of the dispatch team at the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office and was present for the implementation of the 911 system in the area in 1997; and
WHEREAS, Chrissy Shinall touched countless lives over the course of her 28-year career, ensuring that members of the community received proper emergency assistance in a timely manner; and
WHEREAS, Chrissy Shinall will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by numerous family members, friends, and colleagues; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Christina Kaye Shinall; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Christina Kaye Shinall as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for her memory.
