Agreed to by the House of Delegates, February 16, 2026
WHEREAS, Robert Wayne Grove, a beloved member of the Fauquier County community and hardworking and respected cattle farmer who advanced the angus industry through various endeavors, died on November 18, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Robert “Bobby” Wayne Grove graduated magna cum laude from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and attended graduate school at Pennsylvania State University for some time before taking a job as a fieldman for the magazine

; and
WHEREAS, Bobby Grove successfully transitioned his family's farm, White Ridge Farm in Somerville, to a registered angus herd throughout the 1980s, then joined the farm full-time in 1988; and
WHEREAS, Bobby Grove was deeply devoted to the task of raising cattle and gave extraordinary attention to detail in cultivating a thriving and bountiful herd; and
WHEREAS, Bobby Grove was an outspoken advocate for cattle farmers and consistently sought ways to promote excellence in the angus industry; and
WHEREAS, for four decades, Bobby Grove proudly served as a ringman at local cattle sales, aiding his fellow angus producers in the development of their herds; and
WHEREAS, Bobby Grove was a member of the board of directors of the Virginia Angus Association from 2002 to 2005 and was elected to serve as president in 2004; he then subsequently served on the board of directors of the Northern Virginia Angus Association from 2006 to 2009; and
WHEREAS, Bobby Grove co-managed the Fauquier County 4-H Livestock Show and Sale from 1994 to 2002, nurturing the agricultural interests of many young people, including his nieces, who showed cattle and hogs during that time; and
WHEREAS, Bobby Grove was recognized for his years of dedication in support of the angus industry when he was named Seedstock Producer of the Year by the Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association in 2014; and
WHEREAS, Bobby Grove showed tremendous courage and determination throughout his long battle with cancer, remaining steadfastly positive and committed to improving his health and well-being; and
WHEREAS, Bobby Grove will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his siblings, Donna and Thomas, and their families and by numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Robert Wayne Grove, a pillar of the Virginia angus industry whose legacy of service inspired all who knew him; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Robert Wayne Grove as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
