Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 2, 2026
WHEREAS, Inova, a leading nonprofit healthcare provider serving Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, was named the HX25 Health System of the Year by Press Ganey in 2025; and
WHEREAS, founded in 1956 as the Fairfax Hospital Association, Inova changed its name in the late 1980s to embrace the health system's commitment to continuous innovation and to serving patients throughout the Northern Virginia Region; and
WHEREAS, today, Inova annually serves more than 1.2 million patients across five hospitals and a network of outpatient facilities and urgent care centers and holds the distinction of having Northern Virginia's only Level 1 Trauma Center and Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; and
WHEREAS, Inova provides exceptional care to every patient it serves, regardless of their ability to pay, making it an invaluable entity for ensuring the health and safety of the region; and
WHEREAS, Inova has become a world-class health system through its emphasis on state-of-the-art technology, compassionate and equitable patient-centered care, and community engagement; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Inova have been made possible by the more than 26,000 hardworking and skilled physicians, nurses, specialists, and staff members who are part of the health system's team; and
WHEREAS, Press Ganey, an industry leader that provides experience measurement, analytics, and health system and health plan insights, recognized Inova for the remarkable results the health system has achieved through its innovation, leadership, and community outreach; and
WHEREAS, Inova's accolade from Press Ganey is a testament to the health system's unwavering commitment to excellence and underscores the tremendous impact the health system has had on the Northern Virginia Region over the past several decades; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Inova hereby be commended for being named the 2025 HX25 Health System of the Year by Press Ganey; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to representatives of Inova as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the health system's extraordinary contributions to the health and well-being of the Commonwealth.
