Commending the Brentsville Future Farmers of America.
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 26, 2026
WHEREAS, for 97 years, the Brentsville Future Farmers of America has created opportunities for young people in Prince William County to learn more about the importance of agriculture, gain valuable experience, and build strong foundations for future success in the agricultural sector; and
WHEREAS, the Brentsville Future Farmers of America (FFA) is currently led by Hunter Ringer, a senior at Brentsville District High School, who also serves as a member of the Prince William-Fairfax Farm Bureau Board and chair of the Young Farmers Committee, with support from faculty advisor and agriculture teacher Amy Beard; and
WHEREAS, in recent years, the Brentsville FFA has achieved great success in promoting agricultural education and preparing students for careers in the agricultural sector, receiving the State Superior Gold Chapter Award and the prestigious National Chapter 3-Star Award from the National FFA Organization in 2024; and
WHEREAS, the National Chapter 3-Star Award is presented to chapters that incorporate all 15 core FFA quality standards into their programs, demonstrating the Brentsville FFA's commitment to building communities, strengthening agriculture, and growing leaders, as well as promoting good citizenship, healthy lifestyles, scholarship, and career success; and
WHEREAS, in October 2025, the Brentsville FFA launched its first agricultural expo to invigorate community interest in agriculture; students coordinated with local businesses, institutions of higher education, and the Virginia FFA to plan the event, which included examples of modern and antique agricultural equipment, road safety education, livestock, and family-friendly activities; and
WHEREAS, through its agricultural expo, the Brentsville FFA promoted the importance of the roles that farming and other agricultural careers play in everyday life; and
WHEREAS, members of the Brentsville FFA have actively engaged with local and state leaders to support policies that will enhance agricultural education and ensure the agricultural sector remains an important pillar of the Commonwealth's vibrant economy; and
WHEREAS, the Brentsville FFA has gone above and beyond to create programs and pursue opportunities that benefit its members, all students at Brentsville District High School, and the community as a whole; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Brentsville Future Farmers of America hereby be commended for its decades of contributions to the agricultural sector and service to young people in Prince William County; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Brentsville Future Farmers of America as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the chapter's legacy of achievements and best wishes for the future.
