Commending SafeSpot Children's Advocacy Center of Fairfax County.

WHEREAS, SafeSpot Children's Advocacy Center of Fairfax County is a nonprofit organization serving child victims of sexual abuse and severe physical abuse and providing comprehensive, no-cost services to children and their non-offending family members; and
WHEREAS, SafeSpot operates under the nationally recognized Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) model, which offers a child-focused, trauma-informed, and coordinated response to allegations of child abuse in a safe and supportive environment; and
WHEREAS, the CAC model used by SafeSpot was developed to reduce the additional trauma historically experienced by child victims who were required to navigate multiple agencies and repeatedly recount their experiences, and instead ensures a compassionate, efficient, and coordinated approach to care and justice; and
WHEREAS, SafeSpot's multidisciplinary team includes professionals from law enforcement, prosecution, social services, medical and mental health fields, victim assistance, and child advocacy, who collaborate to ensure the protection, healing, and well-being of child victims; and
WHEREAS, SafeSpot provides a full continuum of services, including specialized forensic interviews, medical evaluations, trauma-focused therapy, family advocacy, case management, and crisis intervention, all designed to promote healing and reduce the long-term effects of abuse; and
WHEREAS, SafeSpot delivers evidence-based prevention and intervention programs, professional training, and community education to strengthen the community's capacity to prevent child maltreatment and respond effectively when abuse occurs; and
WHEREAS, through its compassionate mission and coordinated approach, SafeSpot has improved outcomes for child victims while supporting non-offending family members during some of the most difficult moments of their lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That SafeSpot Children's Advocacy Center of Fairfax County hereby be commended for its outstanding commitment to protecting child victims of abuse, reducing trauma, and promoting healing through comprehensive, no-cost, and coordinated services; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to SafeSpot Children's Advocacy Center of Fairfax County as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for its vital service to children and families in the Commonwealth.
