WHEREAS, in 2025, Manuel Andrade, owner of The Virginian Restaurant in Vienna, demonstrated extraordinary compassion and leadership by organizing the “Feeding Our Neighbors” initiative to provide free, hot Thanksgiving meals to those in need; and
WHEREAS, Manuel “Manny” Andrade spearheaded the “Feeding Our Neighbors” initiative to support individuals and families in the Vienna community who faced increased food insecurity as the result of financial hardships; and
WHEREAS, through Manny Andrade's efforts, hundreds of meals were prepared and served at The Virginian Restaurant on Thanksgiving Day, offering nourishment, warmth, and dignity to food-insecure residents, including veterans, elderly individuals, unhoused neighbors, and those experiencing isolation; and
WHEREAS, Manny Andrade's endeavor was made possible through partnerships with the One Neighborhood Foundation, the Vienna Business Association, and other local businesses and volunteers, exemplifying the power of community-driven collaboration and service; and
WHEREAS, The Virginian Restaurant has been a family-owned cornerstone of the Vienna community since 1965 and has consistently supported local charitable efforts, toy drives, town events, and service initiatives; and
WHEREAS, Manny Andrade's selflessness, integrity, and unwavering commitment to service reflect the highest ideals of community leadership and demonstrate how local businesses can play a vital role in caring for their neighbors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Manuel Andrade, owner of The Virginian Restaurant, hereby be commended for his outstanding service to the Vienna community and for his leadership in addressing food insecurity during the 2025 holiday season; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Manuel Andrade as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration and appreciation for his generosity, compassion, and enduring contributions to the Commonwealth.
