WHEREAS, in February 2026, AJS Consulting Engineers, Dean Law Firm, Make No Excuses Fitcamp, and Unwined, were selected as the Mount Vernon Springfield Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year honorees; and
WHEREAS, the Mount Vernon Springfield Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year honorees received this prestigious honor at THE BEST Business Awards Celebration, which recognizes individuals and businesses that have cultivated reputations for high-quality products and excellent customer service and are committed to making a difference in the community; and
WHEREAS, AJS Consulting Engineers is an award-winning firm of seasoned engineers providing design services for the construction of new buildings and the rehabilitation or renovation of existing buildings; the firm is known for its innovative, sustainable designs and comprehensive services that reduce energy use and cost, while increasing occupant comfort and health; and
WHEREAS, founded in 2019, Dean Law Firm has provided compassionate, personalized, affordable legal services to hundreds of local residents, businesses, and community organizations; the firm has given clients peace of mind through practical solutions to common sense legal issues and helped local businesses and organizations navigate incorporation and better serve the community; and
WHEREAS, Make No Excuses Fitcamp is a comprehensive workout regimen designed to revolutionize clients' approach to health and wellness; with special programs tailored to athletes, the disabled, youths, older adults, expecting or postpartum mothers, and more, the business has helped countless local residents build confidence and achieve their fitness goals; and
WHEREAS, Unwined, a wine and gourmet goods shop, curates a selection of high-quality products and provides exceptional service in a welcoming atmosphere to help customers find something that suits their personal palate or any special occasion; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That AJS Consulting Engineers, Dean Law Firm, Make No Excuses Fitcamp, and Unwined hereby be commended on the occasion of their selection as the 2026 Small Business of the Year honorees by the Mount Vernon Springfield Chamber of Commerce; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare copies of this resolution for presentation to the Mount Vernon Springfield Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year honorees as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for their exceptional contributions to the vibrant economy in Northern Virginia and service to local residents.
