WHEREAS, Bob Zadeh has served as the head coach and principal leader of Vienna Youth Soccer's TOPSoccer program since its inception in 2009, providing opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities in Vienna to participate in youth athletics; and
WHEREAS, TOPSoccer is an inclusive soccer program serving children and young adults up to age 18 with a wide range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, sensory impairments, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, Down syndrome, muscular dystrophy, seizure disorders, spina bifida, and other developmental and physical challenges; and
WHEREAS, Bob Zadeh has demonstrated extraordinary dedication, consistency, and compassion through his tireless support for the TOPSoccer program; and
WHEREAS, under Bob Zadeh's leadership, TOPSoccer has emphasized player development, inclusion, and enjoyment rather than competition, with trained coaches and volunteer buddies providing individualized activities that meet athletes where they are and encourage confidence, growth, and teamwork; the program operates at Freedom Hill Elementary School during fall and spring seasons; and
WHEREAS, Bob Zadeh has been instrumental in organizing sessions, training coaches and buddies, welcoming new families, and fostering an atmosphere in which every athlete feels welcomed, valued, safe, and excited to participate; and
WHEREAS, during Bob Zadeh's tenure as head coach, TOPSoccer has had a profound impact on athletes and families by building self-esteem, social connections, and a sense of belonging, while also providing opportunities for longtime participants to grow into leadership roles as assistant coaches and mentors; and
WHEREAS, Bob Zadeh's influence has extended beyond Vienna by inspiring former volunteers to establish new TOPSoccer programs elsewhere in other communities, expanding access to inclusive youth sports opportunities throughout the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Bob Zadeh hereby be commended for his exceptional service and leadership of the Vienna Youth Soccer's TOPSoccer program; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Bob Zadeh as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his lasting contributions to inclusion, community building, and the well-being of children and young adults with disabilities.
