Commending Chesapeake Regional Healthcare.

WHEREAS, for 50 years, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare has provided high-quality care and treatment to members of the community while supporting innovation in the medical profession; and
WHEREAS, the Chesapeake Hospital Authority was created by the General Assembly in 1966 to provide for the public health, welfare, convenience, and prosperity of the residents of the City of Chesapeake and people throughout the region; and
WHEREAS, on January 26, 1976, the Chesapeake Hospital Authority opened Chesapeake General Hospital to serve as a trusted cornerstone of the community, delivering lifesaving medical services, advancing public health, and responding to the evolving needs of patients and families; the hospital system adopted its current name, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, in 2015; and
WHEREAS, over the course of its 50-year history, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare's physicians, nurses, clinicians, administrators, and support staff have demonstrated unwavering dedication, professionalism, and compassion and have improved countless lives through their skill, hard work, and commitment to care; and
WHEREAS, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare now offers comprehensive cancer and behavioral health care, state-of-the-art neurovascular and cardiac services, the most preferred labor and delivery program in Hampton Roads, and trauma services; and
WHEREAS, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare has continually invested in medical innovation, technology, education, and community partnerships, strengthening the health and well-being of the communities it serves; and
WHEREAS, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare's legacy reflects not only excellence in health care delivery, but also a deep commitment to service, dignity, safety, integrity, and innovation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Chesapeake Regional Healthcare hereby be commended on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Chesapeake Hospital Authority as an expression of the General Assembly's sincere appreciation to all past and present employees, medical professionals, volunteers, and supporters of Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, whose dedication has made this milestone possible.
