Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 9, 2026
WHEREAS, after 20 seasons, Frank Rocco will retire as head coach of the Liberty Christian Academy football team, having grown the team into a perennial powerhouse while serving as a trusted mentor for the student-athletes in his care; and
WHEREAS, Frank Rocco led the Liberty Christian Academy Bulldogs to a 199–35 record during his two stints as head football coach, making him the winningest coach in program history; and
WHEREAS, under Frank Rocco's leadership, the Liberty Christian Academy Bulldogs advanced to the postseason 19 times and won six Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association state titles and two Virginia High School League Class 3 state titles; and
WHEREAS, over the course of his entire career, including 14 seasons as a coach for public schools in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and several seasons as offensive coordinator at Liberty University, Frank Rocco amassed a total of 294 wins; and
WHEREAS, Frank Rocco helped the members of his teams achieve their fullest potential on the football field, in the classroom, and as community leaders; he excelled at player development, with 85 of his former high school players going on to play college football; and
WHEREAS, after being diagnosed with cancer in 2024, Frank Rocco continued to lead the football team with strength and determination, further serving as a source of inspiration for his players and the community as a whole; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Frank Rocco hereby be commended on the occasion of his retirement as head coach of the Liberty Christian Academy football team; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Frank Rocco as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his record-setting achievements and legacy of contributions to young people in Lynchburg.
